About Me...
My name is Karishma Roy and I am a teacher candidate at University of Ontario Institute of Technology. My educational background entails a Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Studies from Ryerson University. I have many years of experiences working with children in a variety of settings such as daycare, Ontario Early Years (OEYC) sites, school settings/classrooms and at summer camps. The one year program at UOIT will be my last step I will need to achieve before receiving my Bachelors in Education which enables me to teach at the Primary/Junior level.
As a future educator, I hope to inspire children to believe that they are unique individuals and each of them has the potential to bring something distinctive and special to the world. I will also model my educational philosophy by being a part of a classroom that is committed to maintaining a fair, supportive, and inclusive setting. Every child deserves to be given the education they require to succeed, regardless of culture, ethnicity, gender, physical/intellectual ability, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.
In closing, I have always dreamed of being a teacher because teachers both shape and witness the development of great minds. They play a major part in the nurturing of the future generations. Children are the future, but teachers lead the way. I am very appreciative and excited for this wonderful opportunity and I look forward to learning and growing with you and your child.
Sincerely,
Karishma Roy
